Never-ending source of discoveries, pagan and folk metal gives to the curious fans the chance to familiarize their ears with unusual languages and instruments, but also to embrace historic events as well as legends. Such an attachment to precise cultures and times is meant to produce specific sub-genres. So Brennkelt defines its style with accuracy as Gaulish war metal, a mix of death and black metal filled with great battles that shook the Gaul and striking Celtic figures. Having only one demo and full-length released didn’t prevent this band from Montargis from pervading them with the ardor of the Senones, the blood of the defeated warriors and with the solemnity from the tribute to former values. Brennkelt did earn its title of warlord, with a bold and warlike spirit which will be very much welcomed to the Cernunnos festival.
